Singapore Society of Otorhinolaryngology to Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery , Singapore.

The Singapore Society of Otorhinolaryngology was founded in the year 1967 with affiliation to the Singapore Medical Association. The prime mover for the formation of the society was Dr Goh Ewe Hong, the then Head of the Ear, Nose and Throat Departm of Singapore General Hospital .

The main objective of the society was to foster the study and dissemination of all aspects of Otorhinolaryngological knowledge. The society has grown from strength to strength during the last 40 years and in 2007, the Society was reorganized with a new name ?Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Singapore .

The society is closely connected with the development of Otorhinolaryngology in Singapore and provided a common ground for discussion of scientific and professional needs and has also generated a spirit of cooperation and social exchanges between Otolaryngologist locally and abroad.

Among our members of our society we have many talented individuals with a high degree of skills and expertise and this has enhanced the quality and status of the ENT Surgery as a whole in Singapore , including the pursuit of medical excellence.

The Society is affiliated to the ASEAN Otorhinolaryngological Head and Neck Federation, the ASIA OCEANA Association of Otorhinolaryngological Societies, and the International Federation of Otolaryngological Societies (IFOS).

The Society held joint meetings in Singapore with the Australian ORL Society in 1974 and 1987 and hosted the 4 th ASEAN ORL Head and Neck Congress in Singapore in 1089 and the 9 th Congress in 2001.
